These terms apply to drdarylappleton.com and quiz.drdarylappleton.com (the "site"), run by Cioffi Appleton, LLC, a Rhode Island limited liability company ("we," "us"). By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
1. Educational content, not therapy
Dr. Daryl's advisory, podcast, and media work are educational and are not therapy. Nothing on the site is psychotherapy, counseling, diagnosis, or treatment of any mental health or medical condition, or professional advice for your situation, and using the site, reading the blog, taking a quiz, or contacting us does not create a counselor-client, therapist-client, or other clinical relationship. Dr. Daryl Appleton, Ed.D., LMHC, is a behavioral strategist who advises executives and leadership teams. She is a licensed mental health counselor in Rhode Island. Her advisory work is not part of any counseling service. If you are concerned about your mental health, please contact a qualified professional. In an emergency, call 911. 2. Advisory and speaking engagements
Advisory, speaking, and other engagements are governed by a separate written agreement and our Ethical & Legal Disclosures. If those conflict with these terms, the engagement documents control.
3. Ownership of content
The site and its content (text, articles, quizzes, audio, video, images, and design) are owned by Cioffi Appleton, LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may view and share links to the site for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, republish, sell, or create derivative works from the content without our written permission, except as the law allows (for example, brief quotation with credit).
4. Trademarks
FEELINGS & OTHER F WORDS® is a registered trademark of Dr. Daryl Appleton (U.S. Reg. No. 8469771). Other names, logos, and marks on the site belong to Dr. Daryl Appleton, Cioffi Appleton, LLC, or their respective owners. Nothing here grants you a right to use them.
5. Your use of the site
Please don't use the site unlawfully, try to gain unauthorized access, interfere with its operation, scrape it in bulk, or submit anything harmful, infringing, or misleading. We may remove content or block access that breaks these terms.
6. What you send us
If you send us a message, comment, or other content, you confirm you have the right to share it, and you give us permission to use it to respond and run the site. We won't publish your name or words (for example, as a testimonial) without your separate permission. Please don't send health information through the site. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
7. Links and third-party services
The site links to and embeds third-party services (for example, podcast platforms, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn). We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or practices.
8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
9. Changes
We may update these terms by posting a new version with a new effective date. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the update.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Rhode Island, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Rhode Island, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
